Shubman Gill in Ahmedabad ahead of game against Pakistan on October 14 | CWC2023

Xtra Time Web Desk: Star India batter Shubman Gill on Wednesday night reached Ahmedabad ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 game against Pakistan on October 14. Gill was seen coming out of the airport in a black tee and a mask. He was surrounded by security personnel. The 24-year-old was escorted to the team hotel in Ahmedabad. It did seemed he was not hundred percent fit.

Shubman is still recovering after being tested positive for dengue. Gill had already missed

the opener against Australia and is also ruled out for the fixture against Afghanistan in Delhi. The 24-year-old is in serious doubts of recovering ahead of the marquee clash against Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 14. It is still not sure if he will be available for the game against Bangladesh on October 19.

Gill recently got admitted in a hospital in Chennai for pre-cautionary measure. He did not travel with the team to Delhi and is being monitored by BCCI medical staffs. Normally for people affected by dengue takes time to recover. The recovery time may vary from person to person. In Gill’s case the advantage is he is a sportsperson and is supremely fit.

There is a possibility that Gill might be fit-again for the game against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19. If he doesn’t then the team management will look ahead for the New Zealand fixture on October 22 at Dharamsala. Post the game against BlackCaps, the Men in Blue will have a week’s gap before they take on England in Lucknow on October 29.
