Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India captain MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya reunited in Ranchi ahead of the first T20I against New Zealand on Friday, January 27. They made their meeting memorable by re-creating a moment from the hit Bollywood film Sholay. Hardik shared a photo and gave a fitting caption that read, ‘Sholay 2 coming soon’. Both sat on a three wheeler recreating the iconic bike pose of Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra. The location seemed to be some parking space.
Pandya some quality time with Dhoni in Ranchi before the T20 series opener against New Zealand on Friday. It is a well-known fact that Pandya has a huge respect for Dhoni. The all-rounder calls the former India captain his mentor and big brother.
Hardik will be leading the Indian team in the T20 format. The all-rounder spent some quality time with Dhoni and also got some valuable tips from the legendary batter.
Dhoni also paid a surprise visit to the Indian dressing room at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi. Dhoni met the Indian players ahead of the T20I series opener against New Zealand. In a video shared by BCCI on social media, Dhoni could be seen meeting the likes of Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav.
The two-time World Cup winning former India captain was also seen having words of advice for off spinner Washington Sundar. He was in a jovial mood as he chatted with the current generation of Indian cricketers. He was also seen having coconut water while talking with the Indian players.
