File Pic.[/caption] Internet Desk: Former Australian cricketers on Monday came down heavily on Steve Smith and his team. Leading the pack is none other than legendary leg spinner Shane Warne. The Victorian accused Steve Smith of leading the side poorly against the Proteas at WACA. According to Warne, it was ‘bad captaincy’ by Smith for not giving Lyon enough bowling in the test match. The off-spinner was just given 12 overs to bowl on Day 3 when the entire bowling unit struggled. "It wasn't like the ball was hopping around corners yesterday, they couldn't take a wicket. I thought it was a bit weird Nathan Lyon didn't bowl one over. He bowled 12 overs on a 37-degree day and the quicks bowled their hearts out," Warne was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz. "To me it's bad captaincy because you're trying to get the best out of the players. To bowl him for 12 overs, his confidence will be low," he added. South Africa recorded a comprehensive 177 runs victory over the hosts to take a lead in the three match Test series. It was also the home side’s rare loss in a first test of a series at home in 28 years. The last time the Aussies lost the first test match at home was against West Indies in 1988. The loss also meant that the selectors may be forced to change the squad drastically unless there is significant improvement in the Apple Isle. The Australian selectors have already retained the same squad for the second test match at Hobart. Opener Shaun Marsh is already ruled out due to an injury. The selectors will be keeping a close watch on two underperforming cricketers Adam Voges and Mitchell Marsh while pressure is also building on spinner Nathan Lyon and veteran Peter Siddle. as Australia's top six let the team down again.
