While en route to the hill station, Shami observed a car tumbling down the hill and promptly sprang into action. Without hesitation, he stopped his own vehicle and rushed to the accident site to assist the individual.
Taking to Instagram, Shami shared a video of the incident, illustrating the immediate response and aid provided by the cricketer in rescuing the person from the car crash. He wrote, “He’s so lucky god gave him 2nd life, His car fall down from the hill road near Nanital just in front of my. We took him out very safely,”
Shami’s heroic act off the cricket field echoes his recent success in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, where he emerged as the highest wicket-taker with an impressive tally of 24 wickets, despite being initially overlooked in the tournament. This incident also recalls Shami’s personal experience, as he himself survived a car accident in 2018 while traveling from Dehradun to New Delhi. He endured multiple cuts, including minor head injury that required stitches.
