Internet Desk: Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan’s reaction after getting Ben Stokes out on the final day of the second test match at Mirpur has taken the social media by storm. Shakib, after dismissing the English all-rounder on Sunday gave him a salute as he was walking towards the pavilion.

The English all-rounder has been in the middle of controversy following his unsporting gesture towards Abdul Majid in a warm arm match against BCB XI. Majid, who scored a century against the visiting England team, went up to Stokes to shake hands after the match. But the English all-rounder decided to walk away without showing courtesy to Majid.

Stokes has been in the middle of all attention but for the wrong reasons. He got involved in an argument with Tamim Iqbal during the ODI series. Stokes, who plays for Durham in English county, was also fined 15 percent of his match fee for charging towards Sabbir Rahman.

Shakib after getting Stokes bowled ran down towards him to give him a salute. The reaction brought back memories of a similar gesture from West Indies all rounder Marlon Samuels during a Test in April 2015. Samuels also gave Stokes a salute as he walked back to the pavilion.

The gesture from Shakib has taken the social media by storm in Bangladesh.

However, Stokes took it all in his stride, thanking the Bangladesh fans and sending a salute Shakib’s way after the match in a post on his tweeter handle.
