Serie A: Leaders Juventus suffer shock 1-2 defeat against Udinese, still a win away from title

XtraTime Web Desk: Juventus suffered a shock 1-2 defeat at the hands of Udinese in Serie E at the Dacia Arena on Thursday night. The loss will mean Maurizio Sarri’s side has to wait a little longer to claim their ninth consecutive Serie E title. The side from Turin needed a win to wrap a title but will now have to wait till Sunday when they take on Sampdoria at home.

It was Juventus who took the lead from a long ranger by defender Matthijs de Ligt three minutes before half-time. The home side equalized through Ilija Nestorovski who made a superb diving effort to head the ball into the net. A stunning individual effort from Seko Fofana in the stoppage time clinched the winner for the home side.

Juventus, who have won only one of their last five games and have dropped 18 points from winning positions this season, stay on 80 points followed by Atalanta with 74 and Inter Milan on 73 with three games each to play.
