Sanchez the hero, as Manchester United beat Real Madrid to end the pre-season

Not even the biggest Manchester United fans expected that they would be beating a star-studded Real Madrid side in their last game of the pre-season tour, especially in the absence of a number of first team players. But manager Jose Mourinho had other ideas.

But Manchester United signed off from their troubled US tour with a first win in 90 minutes as Jose Mourinho beat former club Real Madrid.

Alexis Sanchez continued his impressive pre-season form for United with the opener – his second goal of the tour – and then turned provider for Ander Herrera to plunder the second.

Real pulled a goal back through Karim Benzema just before the break, but United held out for a morale-boosting win after a difficult beset by issues over personnel, injuries and boss Mourinho’s downbeat mood.

Mourinho and his players flew out of Miami to Manchester after the game and will have Thursday off before resuming their pre-season preparation, which concludes with a friendly away to Bayern Munich on Sunday.

Star performers: For Manchester United, Alexis Sanchez was no doubt the star of the show with his brilliant goal and assist. Fred and Andres Perrera to played amazingly well.

On the flip side, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Vinicius Jr had put up an impressive show. Specially Vinicius was outstanding with his crafty skills.
