Sad day for cricket, Ranji Trophy cricketer dies due to massive heart attack while playing

XtraTime Web Desk: Goa Ranji trophy player Rajesh Ghodge suffred a massive heart attack and passed away on Sunday during a local tournament at the Rajendra Prasad Stadium in Margao.

The incident occurred around 3 pm during Margao Cricket Club (MCC) tournament match. The 43-year-old Ghodge, who was playing for MCC Challengers against MCC Dragons was at the non-striker’s end after scoring 31 runs.

Ghodge collapsed suddenly and rushed to the hospital where the doctors tried to revive him but failed later he was shifted to another hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Rajesh, made his debut 1999-2000 season and played two first- class matches scoring 76 runs. He has also played eight List A matches for Goa where he has registered 115 runs with one half-century.
