Sachin & Lara shares a few unknown stories of their time to the fans

XtraTime Web Desk: Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar & Windies legend Brain Lara both were threats to any team during their times. All the teams tried to send them back as soon as possible because if they get going then there was no stopping before they take the game away from their opponent. During a chat for IPL’s official broadcaster the two legends who are also good friends as well opened up about their good old memories.

Most of the team’s didn’t sledge Brian Lara at that time because it was a myth that if he got angry then he would single handedly destroy that team. The teams replicate the same thing with Sachin as well. Lara revealed what was the talk in the dressing room when the master came to bat against them.”We were bowling to the best batsman in the world. Technically there was no batsman better than him. You can talk about spin, pace, medium pace, under arm anything, he was the best. So we felt that if this guy is so good with the full face of the bat let’s have him playing half of the face of the bat. We put everybody in front of him and asked him to play some delicate shot. We did that to invite him to play through backward point, flick it through back. It doesn’t mean that he couldn’t play that shot but we couldn’t get him out with full face of bat and so we tried that process to see if we could get him out,” said Lara.

On the same question Sachin replied,” We would discuss in the dressing room, that don’t make Lara angry. Just leave him in his comfort zone. Let the tiger sleep; don’t do anything silly with him. We knew that if we start doing that he will be up for that challenge. Our view against him was that let him come and give him the chance to score how much runs he wants to score and if you challenge him all the time then he will wake up and show what he is capable of. We always want him to score against other teams but not against us.”
