XtraTime Web Desk – In the 7th edition of Indian Super League, Kerala Blasters took on ATK Mohun Bagan which is the first match of the national club in the premier football tournament of India.

The stories leading up to Kerala Blasters versus ATK Mohun Bagan made this fixture even more exciting as Kibu Vicuna and Naorem were facing their former side and Sandesh Jhingan as well facing Kerala Blasters after being with the club for 6 years.

Antonio Lopez Habas started the match with a 3-5-2 formation while Kibu Vicuna started with a 4-2-3-1 formation. Both the teams played aggressive football but keeping their defense tight. Both the teams missed few chances but Kerala dominated in terms of ball possession.

Micheal Soosairaj was subbed off as he suffered an injury in the 14th minute of the match. Subhasish Bose replaced him and ATK Mohun Bagan went to 4-4-2 from there. However, they couldn’t score as the first half ended goalless.

In the second half, all the Mariners saw what they wanted to see for a long time now. ATK Mohun Bagan scored their first ever goal in the Indian Super League with a sweet volley from their main man, Roy Krishna. With this goal, Krishna proved that like last year, he is going to be a force to reckon.

Kerala tried but couldn’t find a solution as Sandesh Jhingan and Tiri played brilliant football throughout the match.

Needless to say, the Mariners are super happy after registering their first win in the ISL. Loads of posts and tweets have been posted and shared on social media to celebrate their win against Kerala Blasters.
