Prabir Das from the right flank provided some grounded cross but the forwards never got it as SC East Bengal defence was rock solid. One of Prabir Das’ shot hit the top bar while Anthony Pilkinton’s penalty appeal was rejected in the 8th minute. Thus, the first half ended 0-0.

After a slow start in the first half, ATK Mohun Bagan started the 2nd half in a quick pace. Devjit Majumder failed to save a grounded shot of Roy Krishna which gave the Green and Meroon an important lead in the 49th minute. SC East Bengal then created few chances but their forwards never could capitalize. They missed few sitters which costed SC East Bengal in the end.
