Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India captain Rohit Sharma once again proved he has a very soft corner for his fans. A young fan breached the security at the ground to meet Rohit while he was batting in the second ODI at Raipur. Within moments security persons rushed inside to take the kid under their control. But the Indian captain stepped in and asked the security not to take any action against the kid.
The incident took place on the 4th ball of the 10th over of India’s inning as they were chasing a 109-run target to win the second ODI against New Zealand.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media with fans lauding the ‘Hitman’ for his kind gesture.
This is not the first incident when a fan has invaded the playing area to meet their heroes. During the recently concluded series against Sri Lanka, a fan had entered the field and touch Virat Kohli’s feet.
Coming to the match, India registered a comprehensive 8 wickets win to seal the three match ODI series 2-0. New Zealand were bowled out for 108 runs in 34.3 overs, with Mohammed Shami taking three wickets for 16 runs. India chased the target without much trouble in 20.1 overs, losing just two wickets. Indian captain scored 51 off 50 balls.
