XtraTime Web Desk: India vice-captain Rohit Sharma on Friday hailed Real Madrid’s 34th La Liga title as the result of teamwork. Zinedine Zidane’s boys won a record 34th La Liga title by winning 2-1 against Villarreal on Thursday night at Alfredo Di Stefano stadium. The Los Blancos won 10 consecutive matches since the La Liga restart, dethroning arch-rivals Barcelona.

Rohit took to social media and cherished the ‘good news’ that has come amid lack of any in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Another title in the bag. Real Madrid truly came together as a team during these tough times. Congratulations! Finally some good news in a year that is severely lacking any,” Rohit wrote on Twitter.

The India vice-captain as most fans will know is a huge Real Madrid fan. He became the first non-footballer in the history of La Liga to become the brand ambassador of Real. Rohit along with his wife Ritika had visited the Santiago Bernabeu, Real’s home venue, during their famous El Classico win over Barcelona in March. The ace cricketer was presented with a customised Real Madrid jersey during his visit to Madrid.
