Rohit Sharma & bowlers help India thrash New Zealand by 8 wickets in 2nd ODI, clinch series 2-0 | INDvsNZ

Xtra Time Web Desk: A superb bowling effort coupled with a brilliant fifty from captain Rohit Sharma helped Team India to a comprehensive 8 wickets win against New Zealand in the second ODI at Raipur. The win also helped the Men in Blue clinch the three match ODI series 2-0. New Zealand were bowled out for a paltry score of 108 all out in 34.3 overs. Mohammed Shami was wrecker in chief with 3/18. He was assisted by Hardik Pandya 2/16 and Washington Sundar 2/7 as well.

Chasing 109 runs to win, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made a mockery of the target, reaching home with almost 30 overs to spare. The Indian opening pair added 72 runs for the first wicket.

This was the seventh straight ODI series win for the Indian team. Rohit Sharma and his boys held their nerve to register a 12-run win in the first ODI over the BlackCaps. They followed it up with a 8-wicket mauling in Raipur. Despite the two losses, New Zealand is currently is ranked on top but India can replace them with a 3-0 series whitewash.
