Xtra Time Web Desk: A captain’s knock from Rohit Sharma (120 off 212 balls) along with half centuries from Ravindra Jadeja (66* from 170 balls) and Axar Patel (52* off 102 balls) saw India post 321/7 at stumps on Day 2. The hosts have already taken a lead of 144 runs with three wickets in hand.

The Indian captain was the star of the day, bringing up his 9th test hundred and first as captain of India in the longer format. His 212 ball knock was studded with 15 boundaries and two sixes. Rohit also became the first Indian captain to score hundreds across all formats.

Ravindra Jadeja continued his stellar performance in his comeback test match. Following his five-fer in the first innings, Jadeja has scored an unbeaten fifty. During his knock Jadeja hit 9 boundaries. Axar Patel too played a crucial knock as he is not out on 52*.

For Australia, off spinner Todd Murphy picked up 5 wickets on debut. His spell read 36-9-82-5. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon picked one wickets each.

At the end of Day 2, hosts posted 321/7 in response to Australia’s 177.
