Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian Cricket Team was greeted with the chants of Sanju Samson as they touched Trivandrum. Thousands of fans gathered at the Trivandrum airport to welcome the Indian cricketers. Much to the surprise of Rohit Sharma and his boys, they saw the local fans chanting the name of Sanju Samson.
Sanju Samson, who hails from Kerala missed out on the flight to Australia for T20 World Cup 2022 as selectors included Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant as wicketkeeping options.
The Indian cricketers were given a traditional welcome at Leela Kovalam where they are staying. Suryakumar Yadav is joined by his wife Devisha and the couple posted beautiful videos of the view from their balcony. The location around the hotel is absolutely stunning with most of the rooms overlooking the sea.
Meanwhile, the South Africa squad landed in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday for its series against India that is set to begin at the Greenfield International Stadium on September 28.
Both teams are scheduled to train at the venue ahead of the series opener on Wednesday.
