Rohit & co to have their base camp in Perth ahead of T20 World Cup

Xtra Time Web Desk: Rohit Sharma and his boys will have their base camp in Perth ahead of T20 World Cup 2022. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly on Thursday shared an update on where the Indian team will be based and prepare themselves ahead of the T20 World Cup Down Under. The Men in Blue will have their base camp at Perth and will train at the bouncy WACA track to prepare for the T20 World Cup starting from October 16.

The Indian cricket board has agreed to head coach Rahul Dravid’s request for more warm-up matches before T20 World Cup. The reason for having base camp in Perth is to get accustomed with the bouncy tracks in Australia. Indian team will train at WACA for 2 weeks and will play practice matches among themselves before the scheduled warm-up games against Australia and New Zealand in Brisbane on October 17 & 19 respectively.

It has been already decided that the Indian cricketers will travel to Australia on October 6, just after the conclusion of the series against South Africa.

The Indian team will open their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against arch rivals Pakistan in Melbourne on October 23.
