Robbie Fowler, the English coach of SC East Bengal on Friday gave a short interview on ISL fixtures, the Kolkata Derby and most importantly, about the East Bengal fans.

Speaking about the ISL fixture and specially the first game against ATK Mohun Bagan, coach Robbie Fowler said, “Yeah, delighted. It's obviously a very very tough game but it's a great game for our players. We will try to be ready as much as we can. Yeah, it's a great start and we know what we need to do”.

He added, “It's a big game. Ideally we would have preferred maybe after a few games but it is what it is. We will adapt and we will accept it. We will be ready for that. There's no doubt. I know we are currently lots of weeks behind than other teams in terms of preparation but look it's a great game. Our players are comfortable already. We all were excited when the fixture came out and yeah we will look forward to it”.

SC East Bengal has finally started their training after their 14 days of quarantine. Coach Robbie Fowler seems to be impressed with the kind of players he has in the team. “Lads looking in good form. First day in training as you know we are in quarantine for 14 days. Really tough time for everyone but thankfully we were on the training pitch today for the first time and yeah the boys seems to enjoy it. Few smiles on the faces, few laughs and it gives something to take for us now.”

He added, “Well yeah, I like it (squad). We were ought to get the players who wanted to come over. Obviously I've no doubt that they will do very well and will be giving it all for SC East Bengal. It's a massive club we know. I know it deserves big players and we have brought big players. Obviously the local players are all good. Few have played ISL and few of them will have a point to prove for everyone. We are confident to be in the right spot and doing well”.

Finally the Liverpool legend gave a heartfelt message to all the SC East Bengal supporters when he said, “We are extremely grateful for the support which we always get. I personally can't thank enough for the support I've had. Unfortunately we can't allow them into the game but I know they will be there with us. It's a massive game (against ATK Mohun Bagan) and we wish we could play in front of them but unfortunately we can't. I know you are there with us and obviously in the next year we can't wait to get in front of you and play. Till then keep supporting us, keep believing us we will be giving it everything we have got for you”.
