Riyan Parag brutally trolled by fans yet again for his controversial gesture in LSG game

Xtra Time Web Desk: Rajasthan Royals batter Riyan Parag was brutally trolled on social media for his gesture towards the umpires during the game against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday. The youngster was disrespectful towards the umpires with his gesture after he took a catch from Marcus Stoinis.

What exactly did happen? In the third ball of 18th over bowled by Obed McCoy, Stonis tried to hit him over long on only to find himself caught by Parag diving forward. The on-field umpire referred it upstairs to find out whether the catch was taken clean. Replays showed that the ball had clearly bounced before Parag could pouch it. The decision went in favour of Stoinis.

Parag got another chance to take Stoinis’ catch, in the penultimate over bowled by Prasidh Krishna. The Aussie all rounder tried to hit a boundary in the second ball of the 19th over. He tried to smash a length ball outside off stumps but the ball went up high. This time Parag caught the ball clean but he cheekily lifted the ball just before it hit the ground. He was probably trying to mock the third umpire for his earlier decision.

Former cricketers like Matthew Hayden and Ian Bishop who were on live commentary seemed annoyed with the 20-year-old’s celebrations. So did the fans as they slammed the youngster and believed he deserved the hate that he received due to his ‘attitude problems.’

Here are some of the reactions:
