Rishabh Pant recovering well, shifted to private suite from ICU for this reason

Xtra Time Web Desk: India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been shifted to a private suite due to fear of infection as there has been a large number of visitors at the Max Hospital in Dehradun. Pant is recovering and is much better.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday announced that the state government will provide all help for the treatment of Pant, who was seriously injured in a road accident on National Highway 58 on the wee hours of December 30. He was driving his Mercedes to give his mother a surprise visit.

Pant was alone in the car and reportedly fell asleep at the wheel when the accident happened. According to a statement by the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) in coordination with the Max Hospital Dehradun where he has been admitted, the cricketer has suffered two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee along with injuries on his right wrist, ankle, toe and back.

According to Shyam Sharma, the Director of Delhi District & Cricket Association to ANI said, “Pant is stable and recovering well. Our BCCI doctors are in touch with the doctors here. Jay Shah is monitoring it. As of now, he’ll remain admitted here. He told me that he tried to save (his car) from a pothole (when the accident occurred).”

It is expected that Pant will take time to recover and get back to the field. He is very likely to miss the upcoming test series against Australia which starts in February and there is uncertainty about his participation in IPL 2023 as well.
