Rishabh Pant hits the gym for the first time, shares video on Instagram story

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant is taking baby steps to get back to full fitness. The left-hander recently hit the gym for the first time at the National Cricket Academy. He still has a long way to go before making a return to the cricket field. The doctors expect that it will take another 6-7 months for him to fully recover. It is expected he can return to January next year, depending how he responds to the rehab.

In his Instagram story, Pant drew attention to a quote on the walls of National Cricket Academy, which read: “Sports do not build character, they reveal it.” This statement highlights the importance of sports in showcasing a player’s true character, not just their physical abilities.

The dashing wicketkeeper met a horrific road accident in December last year. He had to undergo surgery in Mumbai. He has already started walking with the help of crutches.

Pant will miss the upcoming World Test Championship Final against Australia to be played at the Oval from June 7. He is also doubtful for the 50 overs World Cup in India later this year in October and November.
