Internet Desk: Indian tennis team is hoping for two medals in the Rio Olympics. All India Tennis Association chief Anil Khanna expressed his hope for the Olympic bound team.

Before the Davis Cup tie of India against South Korea, the team expressed that if the equation between Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes clicks then this pair can shine in the Olympics too. As India won the doubles match in the Davis Cup, hope of Indian tennis fans raised.

Previously India was hoping for a medal in mixed-doubles only. Now they think of a men’s doubles medal too. “It came at the right time. Both Leander and Rohan played really well and it bodes well for them ahead of Olympics. My view is that we have a chance in mixed doubles and men’s doubles. Though the world’s best will be competing at the Olympics – be it Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak (Djokovic), Andy Murray and all,” said AITA chief Anil Khanna.

Last Saturday in the doubles match against South Korea Leander and Rohan Bopanna won by 6-3 6-4 6-4. However, they have no other match prior to their Olympic tie. In the mixed-doubles Rohan Bopanna will be pairing Sania Mirza in Rio. However, the pair has not been tested one month prior to the Olympics.
