Rio 2016: India welcomes first Olympic Silver Medalist woman

From the first citizen of India to the celebrities and sports personalities all round the country poured their wishes to the youngest Medalist of India. As soon as the match ended President of India Pranab Mukherjee tweeted, "Great game played with grit; Hearty congrats P V Sindhu on creating history by winning for India Olympic Silver medal." He further tweeted, "Proud moment for India, whole nation rejoices with your family and you."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi through his tweet boosted up Sindhu for her fighting spirit. he wrote, "Congrats for the Silver P V Sindhu. Very well fought. Indian Goodwill Ambassador for this Olympic Sachin Tendulkar kept continuous tweeting when the match was in progress. finally after the match he tweeted, "Well played India's youngest individual Olympics medal winner P V Sindhu. Father of Sindhu, P V Ramana said that she will perform better in comming years. he also added, "Carolina not an easy player, the way she moved on court today was excellent. This is what Sindhu has to learn, how to shout screams against opponent to get them down". Apart from this he tried to inspire his daughter by saying, "Sindhu has to learn how to shout scream against opponent to get them down". However, mother of Sindhu P Vijaya was over excited for her win. She said, "We are very happy, Sindhu is one of youngest women player and the first to have bagged a Silver Medal in Badminton at Olympics." Meanwhile, All India Football Federation President Mr. Praful Patel today (August 19) congratulated ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu and ace Indian Woman wrestler Sakshi Malik for winning medals in Badminton and Wrestling respectively in the ongoing Rio Olympics. Mr. Patel also announced a reward of Rs. 5 lakh each both for Sindhu and Sakshi. "AIFFMedia expresses it’s support & solidarity to the sporting fraternity for doing India proud. We award Rs. 5 lakh each to Sindhu and Sakshi,” Mr. Patel tweeted from his personal twitter account @praful_patel. “They make us proud. Their achievements inspire the entire Nation,” Mr. Patel said. While Sindhu is the first ever Woman athlete from India to have won an Olympic silver medal, Sakshi became the first-ever Indian Woman wrestler to have won an Olympic medal.LET'S NAME A STORM AFTER #Sindhu. #PVSindhu means GLORY.
