Record breaking Mary Kom wins her sixth World Championship





XtraTime Web Desk: Legendary Indian boxer MC Mary Kom created history today as she outclassed Ukraine’s Hanna Okhota by 5-0 in the 48kg category flyweight final to clinch her sixth gold medal at the Women’s World Championship at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi today.




With this win she became the most successful boxer in the Women’s World Boxing Championship. Earlier she won the gold medal in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010 and tied at five gold medals with Katie Taylor of Ireland. Earlier she won a silver medal in 2001 edition and with this medal she now has the record seven medals under her belt.
