RCB share special fitness & strength training regime of Virat Kohli | Video

Xtra Time Web Desk: Virat Kohli has always set high fitness standards on the field. The former India captain is a fitness fanatic and has always set himself special fitness goals. Recently Royal Challengers Bangalore shared a special strength training video of Kohli on its social media platform Instagram. In the video Kohli can be seen training with RCB’s strength and conditioning coach Shankar Basu and the focus was to build muscle mass which is essential to generate power in T20 format.

“We are trying to build muscle mass. We are trying to get that mass. T20 also requires a lot of explosive moves. Force production is a byproduct of T20. It’s a mandatory thing for him to be strong. He is also having the World Cup round the corner. So as a long-distance call as well as a short-distance call, it’s the same,” said Shankar Basu on RCB’s Bold Diaries.

The former RCB captain finally came good with the bat, scoring his first 50 in the ongoing IPL 2022 season against Gujarat Titans at the Brabourne stadium on Sunday. Kohli was going through an extended bad patch and it was reflected in his performance in this edition of cash rich league. In 10 matches so far in IPL 2022, Kohli has scored only 186 runs.
