Ravindra Jadeja likely to be ruled out of T20 World Cup 2022; all rounder needs surgery to his knee

Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a huge setback for the Indian team, Ravindra Jadeja is likely to miss the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia starting from October. The all-rounder needs a surgery and it will take at least 4-6 weeks to recover. Jadeja has been troubled with the right knee since the test series against New Zealand at home.


On Friday, Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the remainder of the Asia Cup 2022 with an injury to his right knee. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Axar Patel as the replacement for Ravindra Jadeja. According to a statement released by BCCI, “Ravindra Jadeja is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team.
BCCI did not give details about the occurrence of Jadeja’s injury but it does appear that the all-rounder might have hurt his knee during India’s last group A match against Hong Kong on Wednesday.

Following the huge blow of Ravindra Jadeja getting ruled out of ongoing Asia Cup 2022 due to knee injury, Indian team were dealt with another setback. Fast bowler Avesh Khan is doubtful as he is having viral fever. Avesh did not turn up for the Indian team’s optional training session on Friday. He has not come with the team on Saturday as well, raising serious doubts about his availability for the much important Super 4 clash in ongoing Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan on Sunday at Dubai International Stadium.
