Ravichandran Ashwin adopts unique way to raise awareness about staying home during COVID-19

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has adopted a unique way to raise awareness among his followers to stay home during coronavirus pandemic across the globe. The Delhi Capitals bowler decided to change the username of his official twitter handle to “Let’s stay indoors India.”

The intention is to raise awareness about the coronavirus pandemic. The Tamil Nadu cricketer has been quite of vocal and is busy tweeting about the necessity to stay at home and maintain social distancing.

In a series of tweets, Ashwin wrote, “Taking in all information ( both authentic and some seemingly panicky ones) . One thing seems certain “ The next 2 weeks are going to be extremely crucial” . Every city in India should literally feel deserted for the next 2 weeks, cos if this escalates it will be mayhem. #COVID19.”

“We need to remember we are a densely populated country and a very large part of them don’t have access to information.”


The coronavirus outbreak has brought all sports activities to a halt and players are practising social distancing and self-isolation during the pandemic. The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the governments all around are urging people to stay at home.
