Xtra Time Web Desk : Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starred much anticipated film 83 has landed itself into controversy just before it’s release. The film based upon Team India’s 1983 World Cup win, which is due to hit the theatres on December 24 has again landed into trouble.

According to several reports, a complaint has been filed against the producers of ‘83’ involving actress Deepika Padukone, with an UAE-based financer’s claims that his company had invested approximately Rs. 16 crore for the film and was promised good returns which he didn’t receive any. He had filed a complaint at the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Mumbai. The report also claimed that the financer’s capital was directed into agreements with the likes of Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan and Deepika Padukone among others which was then used for the production of the film without any written consent of the businessman.

However, it will be intriguing to see if this controversy hampers the release of this humongous film involving stars like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi and Boman Irani in someway or the other.
