Xtra Time Web Desk : The first four matches of the Indian Super League has been a mixed bag for ATK Mohun Bagan and their fans. After winning the first two matches of the season comprehensively including the derby against arch rivals SC East Bengal, their campaign has hit a roadblock with back to back losses against the defending champions Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC. The Mariners would look to attain redemption against Chennaiyin FC on Saturday. ATK Mohun Bagan Head Coach Antonio Habas had some inspiring words for his team ahead of the Chennai clash.
“Our target is to focus on team spirit. So that every player is motivated. I’ve told the players that you’re the world’s best. This is a tough league and we still have enough time left. We have to be united and be prepared for our next match,” said Habas in the pre match virtual press conference.
“Balance is the key. In the first two matches, we were the best team and in the following matches, we are the worst, this can’t happen overnight. Balance is still the key. The goals aren’t coming today. But in the next match the goals will come,”
ATK Mohun Bagan’s arch rivals SC East Bengal held Chennaiyin FC . On being asked about his team’s tactics against Chennaiyin, the Spanish coach said, “East Bengal did well. But they are a different team and we are a different one. And we also have to keep in mind that this is a different game altogether. We have to play according to the situation. The first 45 minutes could be good for us and the next 45 minutes couldn’t be that good. So we have to be prepared for any situation and decide accordingly,”
It will be interesting to see whether ATK Mohun Bagan can bounce back to winning ways in the game against Chennaiyin FC.
