Suman Chakravorty: Kingfisher East Bengal are in all likely to have won their biggest battle in this transfer market, as there now on poll position to sign “Bhutanese Ronaldo” Chencho for the next season from defending I-League champions Minerva Punjab FC.

In an exclusive interaction with www.xtratime.in, Minerva Punjab owner Ranjit Bajaj himself confessed, “Yes, Chencho is all set to join East Bengal. This is my gift to all the Red and Gold fans, who believe that I have hatred against the club. If I really had any hatred against the club, do you really think that I would have allowed him to join the club?”.

At the same time, he stated that Sukhdev Singh, who was previously announced to have joined East Bengal, eventually has all the probabilities to join Mohun Bagan. He stated, “Sukhdev is probably joining Mohun Bagan. They are very much fair with the deal with us and I am happy to let him go.”

Minerva is also trying to find a replacement of Kashim Aidara, as he said, “Yes, we are in taljs with Penn. He is a fanstactic player as we all know. We will decide on him in the next couple of days. And yes, we have already confirmed Eric Dano for another season.”
