Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season to commence from January 5 next year
Xtra Time Web Desk: The 2023-24 Ranji season will commence from January 5, 2024 with the league stages ending on February 19. The Knock-out stage matches will begin from February 23, according to a report in Cricbuzz. The Ranji Trophy season will be spanning 70 days with the final to begin on March 14.
The season will begin with the Duleep Trophy, from June 28 to July 16, followed by the Deodhar Trophy taking place from July 24 to August 4. The Irani Cup, featuring the Ranji champions (Saurashtra) and Rest of India, is scheduled for October 1-5.
According to the domestic cricket schedule, Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 competition will be held from October 16 to November 6, followed by the Vijay Hazare Trophy 50-over championship from November 23 to December 15. Both white-ball tournaments will feature two divisions: Elite and Plate. The premier division will consist of three groups of eight teams, while the lower division will comprise two groups of seven teams.
In the Ranji Trophy, there will also be two divisions, Elite and Plate, with four groups of eight teams in the Elite division and one group of six teams in the Plate division.

Elite Group A: Saurashtra, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Haryana, Services, and Manipur.
Elite Group B: Bengal, Andhra, Mumbai, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Bihar.
Elite Group C: Karnataka, Punjab, Railways, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Gujarat, Tripura, and Chandigarh.
Elite Group D: Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Baroda, Delhi, Odisha, Pondicherry, and Jammu and Kashmir.
Plate Group: Nagaland, Hyderabad, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh.
