Xtra Time Web Desk : Baroda batter Vishnu Solanki on Friday set an unprecedented example of commitment and sportsmanship as he overcame a personal tragedy to score a valiant hundred against Chandigarh on Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy to give his side a 230 run lead in the first innings.

The 29 year old batter, who lost his new born daughter just a few days ago, returned to the cricket field for his state and scored a brilliant 103, coming in to bat at no. 5 and showed unreal commitment.

The cricketing world hailed Solanki for his unprecedented act, including the Baroda Cricket Association CEO Shishir Hattangadi who took to his Twitter handle to write, "Story of a Cricketer who lost his new born daughter a few days ago. He attends the funeral and gets back to represent his team to get a hundred. His name may not make social media “likes”, but for me #vishnoosolanki is a real life hero. An inspiration."
