XtraTime Web Desk – The vice captain of the Indian test team, Ajinkya Rahane spoke about a lot of stuffs before the crucial 2nd test at Chepauk. He backed his fellow mate Rohit Sharma and also expressed how happy he’s that the fans will be back for the upcoming test.

Speaking about Rohit Sharma’s form, Rahane said, “Rohit Sharma is an important member of our team. He made important contributions in Australia. You can’t judge a player over 4-6 innings. You need to have faith in the players. We’re really happy to have Rohit in the team”.

Rahane also gave an update about how the pitch’s going to play in the upcoming test. “The pitch for the second Test looks completely different. I’m sure it will turn from day one. We have to forget what happened in the first Test and focus ahead”.

When asked about his poor form with the bat, he said, “We are playing at home after two years. It’s all about the team, not about any individual. If you look at my last 10-15 Tests, you will find some runs there”.

Rahane also congrats the spinners how they bowled throughout the first match. “I thought our spinners bowled really well in the first Test. They didn’t get any help from the pitch in the first innings. We are not too concerned about the form of our spinners”.

Jinks also mentioned that he’s happy that the fans will be back into the stadium. He said, “We are all really excited to have fans back. It means a lot to us”.

Many experts and fans questioned Pujara’s approach in the game. Rahane backed Pujara and said that no one in the team has problem with his approach. “No one within the team has an issue with Pujara’s approach. It doesn’t matter to us what people say outside. We know how much he contributed in Australia”.
