Pujara, Shubman slam hundreds to put India in command after Day 3 of first test | BANvIND

Xtra Time Web Desk: It was a dominating Day 3 for India in the ongoing first test against Bangladesh at Zahur Ahmed Chaudhury stadium on Friday. At stumps the hosts still need 472 runs to win the test while the visitors have two full days (minimum 180 overs) to pick 10 wickets.

Cheteshwar Pujara (102* off 130 balls) and Shubman Gill (110 off 152 balls) were the stars of the day as both slammed centuries to help India post 258/2 before stand-in captain KL Rahul declared the second innings. India took an overall lead of 512 runs. At stumps Bangladesh have scored 41 for no loss with Zakir Hasan (19*) and Najmul Hasan Shanto (22) at the crease.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh could only add 17 runs to their overnight score (133/8) as they were bowled out for 150 runs, trailing by 254 runs in the first innings. Indian captain KL Rahul did not enforce a follow-on. Kuldeep Yadav took career best five wickets in the match (5/40).
