Proteas likely to rely on pacers against India | T20 World Cup 2022

Xtra Time Web Desk: Marco Jansen could be the surprise inclusion in the Proteas playing XI for the Super-12 match against India at the Perth stadium on Sunday. The tall lanky pacer was seen spending a lot of time at the optional nets on Saturday. Jansen with his tall height could be used against India on the fat and bouncy tracks at Optus stadium.

Proteas pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje did not turn up for the optional training session on Saturday. Opener Quinton de Kock, although he turned up for the optional practice session, did not bat at the nets along with David Miller. Both will play a huge role if South Africa has to win the tie against India.

Left arm pacer Wayne Parnell and Lungi Ngidi were seen bowling at the optional nets for a long time. Both Proteas pacers had a long chat with bowling coach Charl Langeveldt.

Captain Temba Bavuma, short of runs spent a long time in the nets. South African batter Tristan Stubbs had a long discussion at the nets with Head Coach Mark Boucher. Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klassen, Temba Bavuma all had a knock at the nets.

Proteas spin duo of Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj was seen bowling in tandem in one of the nets.

Temba Bavuma and co has so far got three points from two matches, with the tie against Zimbabwe washed out. It will be a must win match for South Africa, if they are eyeing a spot in the semis.
