XtraTime Web Desk: Raheem Sterling scored a brace to help Manchester City thump relegation staring Watford 4-0 in Premier League on Tuesday night at Vicarage Road. Sterling found the target twice (31’, 40’) while the other two goals were scored by Phil Foden (60’) and Aymeric Laporte (66’). The win took City to 78 points from 37 matches, 15 points adrift of Champions Liverpool.

It was the fourth consecutive win for Pep Guardiola’s side, the first time in the league this season as they are now guaranteed of a second place finish. It also helped erase the memory of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal.

In another fixture Arsenal was humbled by Aston Villa at the Villa Park after Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan scored the winner. The win takes Villa to a safe zone as they are out of the bottom three. Mikel Arteta’s side slipped to 10th position in the table with 53 points. The Gunners were expected to win after the high of beating Liverpool (in Premier League) and Manchester City (in FA Cup) last week.

It will be three seasons now since the North London club played in the Champions League. With the Premier League finish they are heading towards, they won’t even have the Europa League to benefit from, unless they beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
