XtraTime Web Desk: Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs settled for a 1-1 draw on their return to Premier League after a forced break due to COVID-19. The draw sees United stuck at fifth in the table with 46 points from 30 games while Spurs with 42 points from similar number of matches are placed at eight spot. This was United’s 12th game they remained undefeated across all competitions since January.

As anticipated Paul Pogba started on the bench for the visitors as Solskjaer didn’t want to risk him. But it was the Frenchman who inspired United to draw level, coming in after half time. Pogba won a penalty for his team as he was brought down clumsily inside the box by Eric Dier with just nine minutes left for the final whistle. Bruno Fernandes made no mistake from the spot kick. Spurs took the lead through Steven Bergwijn in the 27th minute of the match as his shot could not be saved by David de Gea. The visitors almost had the chance to clinch all three points but VAR rightly overturned another penalty that was awarded to United in the closing stages after Fernandes went down.

The two sides were at full strength with the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Marcus Rashford in their first match back since the restart of the Premier League. Players from both teams took a knee before the start of the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in support of Black Lives Matter movement. Man United striker Marcus Rashford, who rose to fame last week with his free school meal campaign that forced the UK government into a U-turn was seen raising his fist in recognition of black protest.

The draw sees the Red Devils move to within two points of Chelsea who are in the fourth place with 48 points from 29 matches.
