Xtra Time Web Desk: It couldn’t have been a worst start for Manchester United as they suffered their second straight defeat in Premier League on Saturday. The Red Devils lost to newly promoted Brentford FC 0-4 at the Gtech Community Stadium. Stadium. United conceded all the four goals before half time.

United were defeated by Brighton on the opening day of the new campaign and Erik ten Hag was hoping for a response from his side in the second fixture, but his players proved to deliver a performance that was a stain on the club’s proud history instead.

United conceded within 10 minutes after an absolute howler from De Gea and that set the tone of the day. United began to capitulate against Brentford’s pressing and De Gea was at fault for the second goal shortly after, playing a suicide pass from the back.

Ten Hag’s players were shell-shocked and unnerved. Ben Mee scored from a corner to make it three and Bryan Mbueno made it four before the break.

It was the Brentford’s first win over United since February 1938 and it was achieved in some style.
