Pre-season Friendlies: International Champions Cup. English clubs victorious

 XtraTime Web Desk: A few Premier League teams had a great day on service, as Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur had some satisfying results. Liverpool won over Manchester City 2-1 in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.





Manchester City forward Leroy Sane opened the scoring after 54 minutes, assisted by Bernardo Silva. Eygptian star Mohamed Salah levelled the game just eight minutes later. Liverpool’s forward Sadio Mane added a penalty in the 94th minutes, helping Liverpool clinch the victory.

Londoners Tottenham rout Italian giants by 4 goals to 1 with Spaniard Fernando Llorente and Brazilian Lucas Moura bagging a brace each.





Manchester United and AC Milan involved in a thrilling 26 spot-kick penalty shootout after a 1-1 stalemate in 120 minutes.

Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Suso equalised for Milan just three minutes later.

Milan’s Ivorian 21-year-old Franck Kessie was unable to respond and missed the decisive kick.

Portuguese goalkeeper Joel Pereira, who was deputising for David de Gea and Sergio Romero, saved from Fabio Borini and Suso then scored United’s fifth penalty. The match ended 9-8 in favor of the record Premier League Champions.
