Pray For Kerala: Sports persons show their support for the affected people

XtraTime Web Desk: Kerala is now facing its biggest natural disaster as over 300 people already died and lakhs have been homeless for the floods that have ravaged the southern state. “Kerala is facing its worst flood in 100 years. 80 dams opened, 324 lives lost and 223139 people are in about 1500+ relief camps,” Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan  tweeted on Friday evening.


Coming in support of Kerala and spreading awareness of the floods many sportspersons have taken to social media.

“Everyone in Kerala, please be safe and stay indoors as much as you can. Hope the situation recovers soon. Also, I thank the Indian army and NDRF for their incredible support in this critical condition. Stay strong and stay safe,” Indian Cricket Captain, Virat Kohli, who currently is in England, tweeted.


Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted regarding the relief work for the Kerala floods.


Cricketer Rohit Sharma also tweeted and said, “Praying for the people and the animals of Kerala hope the city stands tall and battles through this. The nation is standing beside you.”





Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri, Footballer CK Vineeth and former Kerala Blasters star and FC Pune City forward Iaian Hume said, “Devastated to see what’s going on in Kerala with the horrendous weather & floods. A state full of nothing but love & good natured people, getting their lives torn apart by these adverse… “ in Tweeter and also sent an instagram link.

 

 

Harbhajan Singh also used their social media accounts to share important numbers as well as details regarding the donation process. As he said, “The people in Kerala need all the help possible, to deal with the crisis and get back on their feet. Here’s some information on where and how you can help them out.

Tennis star Sania Mirza wrote, “Prayers and thoughts with the people of Kerala.”
