XtraTime Web Desk: Indian football is in front of a significant moment, as Praful Patel, the honourable President of the All India Football Federation, could continue his term beyond December 2020, as per reports. Eventually, his stint originally supposed to finish till December.
Mr Patel has been officially holding his position since 2012 and is in his second term as the elected President of the AIFF.
However, the recent developments owing to the Covid 19, have virtually frozen the game on and off the field is likely to extend the AIFF supremo’s tenure. The U17 Women’s World Cup, set to be held in India, was too got postponed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic which is now the biggest crisis in the world. With uncertainty over the tournament’s rescheduling, it is highly unlikely that AIFF will opt to hold elections and undergo a change in leadership before the event is completed.
