Himanshu then produced a 10.9 to move closer to Rudrankksh, but a 9.8 on his next shot briefly pushed him back to third. XtraTime Webdesk: India's shooting contingent has had another remarkable day. This time, the men's team brought in the accolades for their country. Himanshu Dhillon and Rudrankksh Patil brought in all the glory as they won the silver and bronze respectively in the 10m air rifle category/
China's Sheng Lihao won the gold, after an ice cold showing in the Finals. Despite not getting 1st, Himanshu and Rudrankksh performed well enough to achieve a double podium finish.
The early lead was taken by Rudrankksh as he scored 52.8 in the opening series. He followed that with a captivating 53.2 and went to open the second series with a 1.1 point advantage. After 12 shots, Rudrankksh got a lead with 127.4 points.
Himanshu too got a great start. After 12 shots, Himanshu had 126.6 points and Sheng had 126.3 points. After 16 shots, Sheng got the lead while getting 168.8 points and Himanshu and Rudrankksh both ended up at 168.6 points.
Himanshu, then, produced a 10.9 to move closer to the Chinese shooter. Yet, Sheng maintained his advantage after 20 shots with Rudrankksh having 210.6 and Himanshu getting 210.0 points.
The dramatic change in the game came after 22 shots when Rudrankksh got eliminated on 230.9 points. Himanshu was just 0.1 point ahead and he had 231.0 which brought him the chance to move towards final gold medal battle against Sheng.
In the gold medal battle, Himanshu ended up with 252.4 points and bagged the silver while Sheng finished with 254.2 and won the gold medal.
Earlier in the day, Rudrankksh, Himanshu and Parth Mane had also won silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event. India scored 1890.1, finishing behind China’s world-record 1899.0, while South Korea took bronze with 1884.2.
