Internet Desk: Three times gold medalist in Paralympics Oscar Pistorius was proved a murderer of his girlfriend three years ago. A trial court of Pretoria will sentence him jail on Wednesday this week.

The handicapped Paralympian has to spend inside jail for a long time as his crime has been proved. He was originally found guilty of culpable homicide by the trial court, but that conviction was set aside by the Supreme Court of Appeal and replace with murder after the State appealed.

In 2013 in the early hours of Valentine day girlfriend of Oscar Pistorius(29) was found shot dead in his apartment. Till then the trial was going on. He claimed that he mistook his girlfriend as thief and shot four bullets. He was jailed during the trial course. Pistorius was freed from prison last October after serving one year of a five-year term for culpable homicide.

Pistorius won gold in 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Paralympics. At the time the crime he committed he was at the peak of his career. The heinous deed of him not only made him out of the track, but also forced him out of the track. Being a handicapped it will be too much suffering for him to spend tenure of 15 years’ imprisonment, as the conviction rule claims.

In the interview — his first since the killing — Pistorius said that he believed Steenkamp would want him to devote his life to charity rather than return to prison. “If I was afforded the opportunity of redemption, I would like to help the less fortunate,” he said. “I would like to believe that if Reeva could look down upon me that she would want me to live that life.”
