Operation successful! How is Wriddhiman Saha now?

Kolkata: India’s star wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha is all well now. The surgery in his right shoulder has been completed successfully. On Wednesday morning (IST, at noon), Lennard Funk, a prominent surgeon, conducted surgery on his right shoulder in Manchester’s Wrightington Hospital. According to English time, Papali was released from the hospital this evening. However, he will have to stay in Manchester for a few days now as his physiotherapy begins on Thursday.




His surgery was conducted for more than three hours. After a few hours of the surgery, “Superman” came back to his senses. He has taken food as per need. Before returning to the hotel, she even talked to his wife Debarati.

Debarati said to www.xtratime.in, “Right from the morning I was in a melancholy mood, as I was worried for him. I was trying to get in touch with him during the afternoon, but his(Wriddhiman) board’s  Physio, Yogesh’s phone was switched off. Yogesh later on called me back and said his surgery was completed successfully.” After ten minutes of coming to his senses, she had a talk with Wriddhi. “He said that everything is all well now”, Debarati said. “There is no discomfort in the body. But we have to stay here for the next few days. ” He has not been named in the squad for the three-match Test series against England for his shoulder injury. Even after the successful completion of the surgery, it will take some time for him to be declared fully fit.




After that he will rest for a while. The Rehab process will continue alongside. So no one knows exactly when he will return to the field. But  the succesful operation has brought relief to his close ones. However, for a few more days, he still needs to stay under Dr. Lennard Funk’s supervision. Then he will return to India. News are coming that he will not return to Kolkata first, but he will go to NCA instead.
