The biggest dilemma for the team management is the batting order for Yashasvi whether to send him to open the batting or at No 3. During the practice match, Jaiswal impressed by scoring a half-century while opening the batting with Rohit Sharma. It is still uncertain whether he will open or bat at number three. However, Rahane suggests that Jaiswal should focus on expressing himself and not overthink about international cricket.
The decision between Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the number three position remains a toss-up. While Jaiswal is primarily an opening batsman, Gill has experience batting at number three and lower positions for Punjab and India A.
