Xtra Time Web Desk: The Pakistan Women’s Cricket team encountered a setback with the involvement of their captain, Bismah Maroof, and key leg-spinner, Ghulam Fatima, in a car accident on the evening of April 5. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that both players sustained “minor injuries” in the incident. However, they were promptly attended to and received necessary first aid. Currently, they are under the observation of the PCB’s medical team.

This unfortunate event coincided with the team’s preparations for an important series at home against the West Indies. The series includes three ICC Women’s Championship ODIs and five T20Is, crucial for Pakistan’s preparation for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later this year.

In a statement, the PCB provided an update on Maroof and Fatima, stating that despite their minor injuries, they received immediate first aid and are now under the care of the PCB medical team. Both players are part of the probables attending a training camp for the series against the West Indies, which is set to commence on April 18.

The accident has raised concerns regarding the availability of Maroof and Fatima for the upcoming series against the West Indies. With the series scheduled to start on April 18, there is uncertainty surrounding their recovery and participation.
