Sabyasachi Bagchi, Jharkhand: From legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar to Mohammed Azharuddin, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Kirti Azad, Rajyawardhan Singh Rathore & many other sports personalities have joined politics after their sporting career. Some has done well & some has failed. It was in news that former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir may join politics and now the new inductee in this speculation list is none other than former Indian captain MS Dhoni.
As per the sources if everything goes right he will join Bharatia Janata Party (BJP), but in an other way. He won’t contest from any seat from any constituency as he will go to Delhi as the Rajya Sabha MP of BJP from Jharkhand. But as the Perliament Election is knocking the door the Bharatia Janata Party hasn’t given the green signal to the former India skipper yet. On the other hand the Cricket World Cup is set to take place in England in a few months time & that’s why both the camp is taking their steps cautiously.
But how MS Dhoni became close with BJP? It’s true that BJP is the ruling party of Jharkhand. Their leader Babulal Marandi & Arjun Munda have a very good relation with MS Dhoni. The current Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubir Das is also very close to Dhoni. As per the sources he is the reason that Dhoni met BJP’s All India President Amit Shah.
India’s World Cup wining skipper met BJP President Amit Shah in 2018. Many other BJP leaders were present in that meeting in Delhi. Amit Shah approached not only Dhoni but also other 25 celebrities across India to support their party in the upcoming General Election. This discussion was named “Relation for Support.”
Mahi was given advice to join active politics by the leaders of safron brigade. Dhoni also expressed his wish. A local man who is very close to Dhoni said, “World Cup is not far away so there is no way that Dhoni will become a candidate in this general election. He wants to be a member of Rajyasabha as he wants to join politics. He wants to do something for the people of Jharkhand.”
Captain Dhoni is a brand in the World cricket. He also became a very good wicket keeper but will he get success in politics? The man said, “If he become a politician then he will easily face the yorkers, bouncers or sledging from the opponents as his another name is “Captain Cool.”
