Xtra Time Web Desk: It was a perfect homecoming for Cristiano Ronaldo as he returned to his former club Manchester United on Friday. It couldn’t have been more dramatic as the Portugese superstar looked certain to join United’s rivals Manchester City late of Thursday night, but a dramatic turn of events saw Ronaldo agree terms with United. The Red Devils officially confirmed the No.7’s return to Old Trafford on its social media platforms.

Personal terms, visa details and a medical needed to be completed, but an agreement has been struck and Ronaldo will move from Juventus to Manchester United this summer, with this the latest transfer in what has been a wild summer.

Following a day of speculation, Manchester United released a statement shortly before 17:00 BST to explain that Ronaldo will wear red again, once a few final details are ironed out.

“Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,” their statement started.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has so far won over 30 major trophies during his career, including five UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, seven league titles in England, Spain and Italy, and the European Championship for his native Portugal.

In his first spell for Manchester United, he scored 118 goals in 292 games.
