National bowler Pragyan Ojha failed to shine for Bengal in pre-season practice match

Internet Desk: Despite of national experience Pragyan Ojha failed to put his mark in the pre-season practice match of Bengal against Karnataka State Cricket Association today. At the end of the day KSCA colts made 260 for 5 wickets.

Winning the toss KSCA colts elected to bat first. Finally it proved that the decision was absolutely right for them to bat first. KSCA put pressure on Bengal on the first day due to the failure of Bengal bowlers.

Today Bengal was on the field with five bowlers. Among them Alok Pratap Singh and Ishan Porel were new to this format. Apart from Pragyan Ojha, Aamir Gani and Writtick Chatterjee have shield of experience of representing Bengal. Both Aamir and Writtick got two wickets each and Ishan Porel scalping one but Pragyan Ojha was wicketless

Today Pragyan bowleda total of 22 overs in which he conceded 49 runs and with two maiden overs. According to sources, Pragyan played his last match in this February in the quarter final against Madhya Pradesh. After that he is totally out of match practice. This hampered his performance.

“He tried to bowl well. Sometimes bowlers do not get the right rhythm. Hope he will come back very soon”, said stop gap captain of Bengal Sudip Chatterjee.

However, Bengal bowlers are still hopeful of a good challenging match. “Hope we will be able to hold the opponent within colts 350. This will be good target to chase. This is a good batting pitch”, said Writtick Chatterjee.
