Davis Cupper Ramkumar advanced to quarterfinal of US Challenger

File Pic[/caption] Internet Desk: The success in Davis Cup this month mounted the confidence level of Ramkumar Ramnathan. After the Davis Cup tie today Ramkumar advanced to the quarterfinal of US Challenger tournament. He defeated Jose Statham of New Zealand by 2-6 6-4 7-6(3). "It was a close match. The guy had great returns and passing hots. I had to go for my serve and shots. In the third set I broke him but was broken back. I was serving for the match at 6-5 but could not seal it. It was a good tie-breaker to win after losing a few in the past few months. I am looking forward to playing the next match," said Ramkumar. In the quarterfinal he has to against British player Brydan Klein. He got the tag of giant killer as he defeated top seed Quentin Halys in the opening round.
